Review: Gold Stickers

   I have another review for you all! This week it is some cute gold floral stickers. You can find them here from Born Pretty.

   I forgot to take a picture before I used them.... Sorry!

   Pros: It is super cute and goes with just about anything. It's also easy to cut out whatever portion you want (the design isn't so close that you can't cut out just a flower, like I did), as well as easy to remove from the backing, even when you cut out a small portion. 

   Cons: Overall, it sticks to your fingers very well. However, there is a tiny bit of lifting on the edges, especially if you have a more curved nail. Luckily, this can easily be fixed with a tiny dab of nail glue.

   Consensus: This is a great product! It's a super easy way to quickly add a design to your nails. If you have some nail glue handy, it ought to last as long as your polish. Even if you don't, it will still last for a few days. Plus, the sheet is big, so you can reapply as often as you want!

   I'll go into more detail about the base in my next post. Suffice to say that it is basically a pastel watercolor. I'm ready for Spring!

Palm Trees

   I'm still in my tropical mood! I haven't shown you all my toes yet, but last weekend my fingers were very similar. Last Sunday was Palm Sunday, so I figured palm leaves would be a perfect way to keep my tropical mood alive and match the occasion. Sort of. It really happened kind of by accident! I had already planned to do the palm leaves. I'm not the best with keeping up with dates, so I didn't realize it was Palm Sunday until I had already painted my nails last Wednesday!

   To make this design, I started with a base of Revlon Colorstay Jungle. After that dried, I drew out the palm fronds with my white striper.

   Next I painted over the white with a light green. I used L'Oreal New Money. Next I painted on a bit of Studio M On the Field. I sort of dry brushed it on. I put a tiny bit of On the Field on the brush and spread it around as much as I could until I ran out. This makes it a bit more streaky.

   Hopefully I'll get my toes photographed soon so I can show you all them too!

Easter Nails

   I'm so excited to show you guys my Easter nails! I recently discovered a fabulous Etsy store that sells pysanka - Ukranian Easter eggs. I fell in love with them on the spot. I really wanted to buy one (I still do!) but I don't have the money for that sort of thing right now. If you don't know what they are, here are some pictures of some that I drew inspiration from.

   Aren't they all so pretty?! They make these by drawing the design with wax, and then dying the egg. It's more complicated than that, but that's the best way I can describe it. You'll have to look it up, it's pretty fascinating. I have a ton more on one of my Pinterest boards, if you want to check it out.
   For my nails, I couldn't choose just one egg to draw inspiration from. So I did the obvious thing and chose a different egg for each nail! It makes for a bit of a hodge podge, but I think they go together fairly well.

   This is by far the most detailed design I've done in a long time, maybe ever. I really like it! It took a really long time to do - it took me around 4 hours for both hands, I think; as usual, I didn't really time it.

   To make these designs I used acrylic paints and nail polishes. I tried out my new nail polish thinner and it makes it so much easier to make detailed designs! I had never thought about using a thinner, but when I was reading Will Paint Nails For Food's blog, she mentioned that she uses it for her more detailed designs, so I decided to try it out!
  I used mainly red, brown, and light blue acrylic paints, CoverGirl Outlast Out of the Blue, Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold, and my white and black Stripe Rite stripers.

   I think my favorites of the many designs are pointer finger on my left hand, and my pointer and middle finger on my right hand. If I ever get around to it (haha!) I think I'll make both my pointer fingers into their own full sets.

   I'm all out of updates until probably next week. I work a lot this week, so I have no idea when I'll be painting my nails again. I'm back on my Etsy-to-Fingers Project after this week's Easter nails. Have  a wonderful week!

Easter Nails!

 These are my nails for Easter! Sorry they're so late, school go the better of me this week! I've had about two fairly time consuming projects to work on, and the usual amount of getting distracted! :) Anyways, there's  not really a lot to say about these... they have Easter things on them! Here are some pictures (my hands look really weird in the first one for some reason).....

 As you can see, I have two Easter eggs (a green on and a pink one), two glitter 'gradient' nails, a cute bunny and a hatching chick, a cross (that doesn't look like it was supposed to), and three different flowers. The rose, chick, and bunny are my favorites! I'm definitely going to have to revisit the rose and do all of my nails like that.
